As a cultural educator, I believe in the power and craft of storytelling. My recent story work has involved a Moth Mainstage appearance under their theme, "American Dreams," and working with Spinner Publications to co-create a third edition (now replete with historic images) of my debut book, KabuMerikanus: The Sum of US.

Candida Rose Baptista is a multi-hyphenate in the areas of musical, cultural, & spiritual enrichment, boasting credentials as a songwriter, vocalist, author, educator, entrepreneur, mother/grandmother/great-grandmother, and community leader. A proud KabuVerdiana hailing from New Bedford, Massachusetts, Candida educates about the transnational musical legacy of Cabo Verdean Americans and performs jazz-infused takes on her musical heritage. Through her business, Golden Rose Music LLC, Candida Rose amplifies beautiful musical sounds, positive spirituality, and important cultural conversations.
